Thank you for visiting Midshorehome.com!  I'm Dan Ketelsen, owner of Mid Shore Home, LLC.  I've worked in the hospitality industry for the last 30 years in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.  The majority of my career was spent with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts directing convention sales teams in New Orleans, Dallas, Calgary and Anaheim.  In 2013, I left Hyatt after 17 years and joined the Anaheim Convention and Visitors Bureau as Director of Convention Sales in their Washington, DC office.  In ​2016, I was given the opportunity to

join Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) DC sales team as Director of Global Sales and was most recently Vice President of Sales Strategy for ALHI.

In 2021, my wife Lisa and I moved from Arlington, Virginia to Easton, Maryland.  The Maryland Eastern Shore had long been on our radar as Lisa's family have had a weekend home in the area for years.  Talbot County checked all the boxes for us, it offers a great combination of rural and coastal living.  Lisa and I both grew up in small midwestern towns in Michigan and Iowa, so a return to rural life appealed to us and the addition of the Chesapeake Bay (And crabs) is a great bonus.

Last winter, Lisa challenged me to spread my wings and immerse myself in Eastern Shore living.  My constant work travel was starting to wear on me and it was time for a change.  The idea for Mid Shore Home was really adapted from a need we have at our vacation home in Northern Minnesota.  Much like Talbot County, our Minnesota home is in a very rural area.  We're only there a few times a year and our Ring doorbell can't suffice as our eyes and ears on the property.   This is when we took a look around the Eastern Shore and noted of the large amount of vacation homes in our area.  Thus, Mid Shore Home was developed to assist our Maryland neighbors who need eyes and ears on their homes.

When I'm not working, I can be found working in our gardens, playing with our Golden Retriever (Roux) or Chocolate Lab (Baxter) and exploring all that the Eastern Shore has to offer.  I have also served on the Corporate Advisory Board for So Others Might Eat in Washington, DC and volunteer with the Easton Waterfowl Festival.
